Who is Carer

A carer is someone who cares for a family member, friend or neighbour because they are ill, frail, disabled or have mental ill-health or substance misuse problems.
If you are caring for someone who could not manage without your help, you are a carer.
Thurrock Carers Service:
Thurrock Carers Service provides information, advice and support for unpaid carers who support relatives, friends or neighbours who would find it difficult to manage without their help.
They offer emotional and practical support and are your first point of contact for guidance. They also carry out Carers Assessments.
